English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC)

It shall also be responsible for assisting in the development of the school needs assessment, language census, and ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance. Under state law, the ELAC also has the responsibility to make recommendations and advise the principal, staff and SSC on the following:

  • The development of the school plan and EL budget.
  • Review findings and offer recommendations on any EL program Modifications.
  • The ELAC receives training materials and training, planned in full consultation with committee members, to assist members in carrying out their legal responsibilities
